Dr. Brian C. Machler, M.D. at Center for Dermatology in New JerseyDr. Machler completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at Fairfield University in Connecticut where he graduated Cum Laude in 1987. He went on to obtain his medical doctorate from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ in 1991 where he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Machler completed his internship in Internal Medicine in Connecticut at Yale-New Haven Hospital and his residency training in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery in Florida at The University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital. In 1995, he joined his mentor, Dr. Roger H. Brodkin at the Center for Dermatology in West Orange, NJ.

Dr. Machler has been the Section Head of Dermatology at St. Barnabas Medical Center, in Livingston, NJ, since 2003 where he provides resident teaching and inpatient dermatologic care. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University's School of Medicine since 2004 where he teaches residents in clinical dermatology. He also maintains his status as Clinical Assistant Professor at his alma mater, the University of Miami's School of Medicine. He has spoken nationally on patch testing, skin cancer, and injection site reactions in multiple sclerosis.

NJ Monthly Top Doctor 2012Dr. Machler has been recognized by his peers as being a "Top Doctor" in Dermatology, an annual feature in NJ Monthly Magazine for the past seven consecutive years. He has also been listed as a "Top Dermatologist in the New York Metro Area" by Castle Connolly for the past five years and has won the "Patient's Choice Award" every year since 2007. He has special interests in patch testing, skin cancer surgery and medical dermatology. He also provides his patients with the latest in cosmetic procedures including Botox, Restylane, sclerotherapy, and various laser treatments.
